In the realm of trumpet research, the integration of tradition and innovation plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our instrument. With the incorporation of the Spanish project “La Trompeta Sonará” into the International Trumpet Research Center, a new phase of exploration and collaboration unfolds.
Carles, the founder of this project, reflects humbly on his journey from an aspiring musician to a dedicated practitioner committed to unraveling the intricacies of trumpet performance. Carles’s pursuit of knowledge has been characterized by steadfast dedication and a thirst for understanding. Due to his research, he will join the ITRC as an Assistant Researcher.
Collaborating closely with musicians, scholars, and researchers at the International Trumpet Research Center, Carles has initiated several research endeavors. Drawing insights from diverse disciplines, including music, pedagogy, and sports science, their collective efforts aim to refine trumpet learning methodologies and elevate performance standards with scholarly rigor and academic integrity.
The integration of Digital Technology represents a significant milestone in this collaborative venture. Embracing the opportunities afforded by the digital age, “La Trompeta Sonará” and the International Trumpet Research Center explore innovative avenues to incorporate technology into trumpet education. Through the judicious application of interactive practice tools and virtual coaching sessions, digital resources are harnessed to provide students with personalized support and guidance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and scholarly inquiry. Many of the results and conclusions of these investigations will be published in the doctoral thesis that Carles is pursuing at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).
As Carles and “La Trompeta Sonará” embark on this journey of shared discovery with the International Trumpet Research Center, we approach their collaborative efforts with humility and scholarly rigor. Together, we aspire to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of trumpet research with a steadfast commitment to scholarly excellence and the preservation of the rich legacy of trumpet music for future generations.
